1832 At the start of the first industrial revolution, André Blanchon founded the “manufactory”, specialised in making fine dyes and colorants for Lyons' silk manufacturers.

- 1900 The company stepped up production and branched out offering products for leather and, even at this early date, treatments for wood.

- 1940 Blanchon started to specialise in manufacturing paints and varnishes.

- 1950 Blanchon became the first French manufacturer of lacquers for wooden floors.

- 1954 A totally new product, "Polyurethane", was launched.

- 1970 The consumer brand, Syntilor, was created specialising in wood protection
- and decoration.

- 1982 Blanchon pioneers the production of lindane-free woodstains with the
- « XYLODHONE ».

- 1984 Blanchon took out "SAFETY" patents on the removal of free formaldehyde
- in resins, glues, etc.

- 1986 GOLD was created, an odourless polyurethane-based lacquer for wooden floors.

- 1988 Creation of the SYNTILOR Aquarethane range, the first lacquer to be awarded the French « Blue Angel » label.
